CRDB Bank conducted a seminar on its special women account, Malkia, and SMEs to members of the General Council of ruling party women wing, the UWT on 17th November 2009.

The presentations dwelled on a number of issues including the background as to why the Bank introduced the account that targets only women. The benefits mentioned included interest of up to 6 percent of savings which grows as the saved amount swells.

Mr Fadhili Bushagama of the Marketing and Research Department of the Bank urged the women to open the account and encourage their colleagues in the various regions which they represented to do the same.

Rehema Shambwe of the Department of Retail Banking explained how the women could benefit from different products offered by the Bank to SMEs. These included special loans known as Bidii whose features have been tailored to suit entrepreneurs who cannot not access ordinary bank loans.

The Bank’s Dodoma Branch Director Rehema Hamisi presented a Sh 5 million to the UWT leadership as Bank’s support to help with the organization of the meeting.
