The bank was granted a license by Bank of Tanzania to buy and sell government securities for own and customers' account. The objective was to stimulate secondary market trading for the securities thereby, giving a leeway for augmenting liquidity in the market. Customers are therefore invited to utilize this opportunity with the bank to trade or invest in government securities using its network of branches. The government securities are Treasury bills and Treasury bonds.
