CRDB Bank has donated Tshs. 10 million to support rescue efforts for Zanzibar Ferry disaster. Speaking in Zanzibar when handing over the donation to Honorable Ambassador Seif Ally Idd, the second Vice President of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, CRDB Bank’s Director of Marketing, Research and Customer Service Tully Esther Mwambapa said "CRDB Bank’s Board of Directors, Management and Staff are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of life particularly of women and children. The Bank wishes a speedy recovery to survivors."

Zanzibar is in mourning after more than 200 people died when the ferry travelling from Zanzibar to Pemba sank on Saturday 10th September, 2011.
